Full Stack Engineer (Backend-Focused)

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer with a strong backend focus to design and build API-driven, event-driven services on AWS using Python, while contributing to React.js/TypeScript frontend development as needed.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Python, AWS serverless and event-driven services, API development, databases, React/TypeScript, automated testing, CI/CD, and production support.

The role involves approximately 60% backend and cloud development, 20% frontend development, 10% testing and quality, and 10% support and technical engineering activities.

Key Responsibilities
Backend & Cloud Development
Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure API-driven backend services using Python.
Develop clean and reliable API contracts for frontend and integration consumers.
Work with REST APIs; GraphQL experience is an added advantage.
Build and maintain AWS-based components using Lambda, SNS, SQS, and Kinesis.
Develop event-driven and serverless integrations with focus on reliability, retries, idempotency, and observability.
Design data models and develop efficient queries across relational and non-relational databases.
Work with MySQL and DynamoDB, including schema changes and migrations.
Develop and maintain integrations with internal and third-party systems.
Build automation scripts and background processing solutions.
Review peer code against quality, architecture, testability, and failure-handling standards.
Frontend Development
Develop and maintain UI features using React.js and TypeScript.
Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs.
Collaborate with product and design teams on API structure, data requirements, and user experience.
Ensure responsive and performant frontend functionality.
Quality & Release
Develop unit and integration tests for backend and frontend changes.
Follow sound test design practices and the test pyramid approach.
Perform API validation using Postman.
Perform data validation using SQL.
Create and maintain test cases using QASE.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Work with GitHub Actions for build, test, and release activities.
Maintain release documentation and contribute to regular release cycles.
Contribute to quality metrics and continuous improvement of the delivery process.
Support, Defects & Technical Engineering
Diagnose and resolve defects across backend, APIs, databases, integrations, and frontend components.
Investigate production incidents and drive issues through resolution and release.
Assist with reproducing, classifying, and routing escalated technical issues.
Participate in on-call support activities when required.
Perform technical troubleshooting and maintenance activities across the application stack.
Support internal technical and engineering requirements.
Required Qualifications
6–9 years of software engineering experience with strong backend development experience.
Strong proficiency in Python for backend development, automation, and integrations.
Working proficiency in React.js and TypeScript.
Strong experience designing and developing API-driven backend systems.
Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, SNS, SQS, and Kinesis.
Strong understanding of event-driven and serverless architecture.
Solid experience with relational and non-relational databases.
Hands-on experience with MySQL, DynamoDB, and SQL.
Experience with unit, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.
Understanding of test design and defect lifecycle.
Experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions.
Good understanding of code review and CI/CD practices.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with AI-assisted development and testing tools such as Claude, Codex, or similar tools.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS certification such as AWS Developer Associate or Solutions Architect Associate.
Experience with performance and reliability testing.
Knowledge of observability concepts including logging, metrics, and tracing.
Experience with QASE and JIRA.
Experience participating in customer-facing or technical on-call support.
Experience with GraphQL.
