Databricks Subject Matter Expert (SME)

JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for an experienced Databricks Subject Matter Expert to provide deep technical expertise and guidance on Databricks-based data engineering and analytics solutions within the telecommunications industry. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on skills in data processing, pipeline development, platform optimization, and troubleshooting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical expertise on Databricks architecture, capabilities, and implementation.
Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and data processing workflows.
Troubleshoot complex issues related to data processing, performance, and platform operations.
Guide engineering teams on Databricks best practices and technical implementation.
Support data integration, transformation, and data quality initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve platform performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
REQUIRED SKILLS / TECHNOLOGIES:
Strong hands-on experience with Databricks.
Expertise in Apache Spark, PySpark, and SQL.
Experience developing and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines.
Strong understanding of data engineering concepts and distributed processing.
Experience with data integration, transformation, and troubleshooting.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Experience in the telecommunications domain.
Exposure to AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud data services.
Knowledge of Delta Lake, lake house architecture, and data governance.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to provide technical guidance and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Willingness to work onsite five days a week in Dallas, Texas.
